Qatar: Sea Sand Stars, Doha, Qatar
Sand interpreted chemistry and physics, human history in the region and beyond,
geophysics, and sustainability. The centerpiece was qScape,an interactive space that conveyed how much Qatar's landscape has changed through time.
Rotating screens would have allowed visitors to scan physical and chronological space. An exhibit called the Tower of Time was filled with 13.7 billion
glass beads, and, like a giant hourglass, both revealed and buried cast objects and symbols that represented events that have occured over the
life span of the universe. Once a year, a single new bead was to be added to the pile.
