Beacon Institute for Rivers and Estuaries, Beacon, New York
In a LEED certified historic building, this 200-square-meter visitor center is being designed to communicate the Institute’s vital mission to understand the Hudson River by monitoring it in real-time using state-of-the-art technologies. The multi-function space needs to also accommodate lectures and classroom setups; thus, Mr. Guerin conceived fabric “exhibit sails” that lift up and down to provide different room configurations and interpretive niches.
